Fulham Wire is an independent news and information site for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, covering Fulham, Parsons Green, Sands End and Hurlingham in SW6, Hammersmith, Brook Green and Ravenscourt Park in W6, Shepherd’s Bush, Askew and White City in W12, and Barons Court, West Kensington and Olympia in W14. We report what the public record shows and keep the everyday local information accurate and in one place.

Where our stories come from

  • Hammersmith and Fulham Council. Its news page, and the decisions, contract awards, committee papers and minutes it publishes through its democratic services system.
  • Planning and building control. The council moved both to a new case management system in February 2026, so we work from the current register and from the planning committee papers rather than the old weekly lists. What that means for anyone searching an application is set out on our planning page.
  • police.uk. Recorded crime, street by street. Where we use it, the figures cover the streets within roughly a mile of central Fulham, which is not the same as the whole borough, and we say so on the page rather than passing it off as a borough total.
  • The Food Standards Agency. Hygiene ratings for the borough’s food businesses, from restaurants and takeaways to school kitchens.
  • The Land Registry, Companies House and The Gazette. Sold house prices, new companies registered locally, and insolvency and public notices. Our ward-by-ward house prices come from the Land Registry’s Price Paid record, filtered to this borough’s own district.

We link every fact to the record it came from, so you can check it yourself. Where a record is ambiguous, or where a date is a proposal rather than a decision, we say that instead of rounding it up. We use British English and plain language, and we do not publish anything we cannot source.

We check the boundary

Addresses in this part of London mislead. A large part of W14 is in Kensington and Chelsea, and Fulham Road runs out of SW6 into SW10 and SW3, which are also Kensington and Chelsea. The Earls Court redevelopment straddles the border, and the council shares some services with its neighbours, so an officer’s name does not settle which authority decided something. Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, in spite of the name, is in this borough. We check the postcode and the deciding council before we publish.
