Fulham Wire is a local news site for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. That means Fulham, Parsons Green, Sands End, Walham Green and Hurlingham in SW6; Hammersmith, Brook Green and Ravenscourt Park in W6; Shepherd’s Bush, Askew and White City in W12; and Barons Court, West Kensington and Olympia on the borough’s side of W14.

It is a small borough and a busy one. Two Premier League grounds stand inside it: Fulham’s Craven Cottage on the river, and, in spite of the name, Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, which is in SW6. Westfield London and the White City development sit at the north end, Wormwood Scrubs and Old Oak run up against the Ealing boundary, and the Earls Court site is being rebuilt on the southern edge. Match days, roadworks and large planning cases account for much of what changes here from one week to the next.

What you will find here

How we work

Every story starts from a named source: Hammersmith and Fulham Council’s published decisions, committee papers and news, police.uk crime data, the Food Standards Agency hygiene register, the Land Registry, Companies House and The Gazette. We link to that source so you can check it yourself.

Boundaries here are tight, and we check them before we publish. A large part of W14 is in Kensington and Chelsea, the Earls Court redevelopment straddles the border, and Hammersmith and Fulham shares some services with neighbouring boroughs, so we confirm which authority actually made a decision before we report it. If we get something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
